Recommended IT books?

Post by Capm »

Well, some opportunity is presenting itself -

Here is the current order of certs I'm going to test for -
A+
Networks+
Server+
CCNA
CCDA
MCSA (for Windows 2000)
and later
CCNE
CCIE

And possibly others (or if you have a better order of exams to take, suggestions welcome)

I have an A+ book (that I've already read and was bored by - just never had money to take the test)
and a small book on TCP/IP..

Just seeing if any of you can recommend good study books and other reference material that would be good for these exams - boss wants me to make a list of books I'll need.

A+ if you know your basic hardware, you don't need any book. But almost any A++ type book will work.

Any of the Cisco stuff, just buy the Cisco books themselves.

Server, which type? Novell, Win 2003?

You'll learn a lot about networks with the Cisco books.

For deep network stuff, you'd be better off getting some TCP/IP book or even Cisco CCNP
