Chef Woodchip

Post by woodchip »

Well tonight is my first attempt at cooking something more complicated than a hamburger or hotdogs. What am I cooking? Soy glazed chicken! So far I got the chicken browned, the glazing ingrediants into the wok and now I've got the chicken back into the wok with the sauce.
30 minutes from now I'll now if I can start planning a cable t.v. show. :P

Couldn't you have tried a little less of a leap? Like, say, hamdogs or hotburgers? Or Kraft Macaroni and "Cheese". :P

I got another 10 minutes or so before it is done and so far the glaze is giving the chicken a nice deep golden brown color.
Glaze has:
Crushed garlic
Crushed ginger
Cooking sherry
Chili sauce
Honey
Soy sauce.
Side dish will be Uncle Bens Mushroom Rice.
D, I suppose I could of but I tend to take these wild leaps of over confidence... :P

Heh... when my mom went back to school my dad had to all of a sudden learn to cook for me and my little brother. We managed to survive on a diet of hotdogs + mac'n'cheese, hamburgers on a George Foreman's grill, pancakes, and waffles for four years. Then my dad learned how to burn chicken, and all went to hell.

Good luck with your dietary expansionism. May you be blessed with better "cooking" talents than my father. :D

Well I served it up and the glaze makes for a surprisingly good taste. I think I may have put a little too much sherry in as the glace did not thicken up quite as much as I thought it would. Also opened a bottle of Leinenkugel's honey weiss beer.
I feel sorry for you guys eat a cheese doodle and bean sandwich
Bon appetit

I was taught how to cook well, comes in handy. But when I cook I am constantly reminded of how much of a pain it is to cook for just one or two.

not surprised it turned out well. hope you didn't overuse the honey.

DC it's always better to learn howto burn chicken than UNDERCOOK it. my little useful tip from me to you, undercooked chicken is dangerous.
