Just got back from 5 1/2 Weeks http://www.alanisandtori.com and thought I would check around for some news at Planet Descent http://www.planetdescent.com/. Finally some news on the Descent movie was released. According to be Cinescape http://www.cinescape.com/insider/indexnew.html, Interplay Films will be producing movie for the games Redneck Rampage, Fallout, Descent, Carmaggedon and Earthworm Jim. Interplay Films had this to say about the Descent movie:
Based on the combat flight simulator game. The film was originally developed as a two-hour TV movie for the NBC TV network. Now planned for a theatrical release, the film has a script by Steven DeSouza.
I did some investigating of my own and Steven DeSouza was also the writer for Die and Die Hard 2. But he also wrote Street Fighter, The Flintstones, Knock Off and Judge Dredd. Additionally he wrote the Tomb Raider movie script which is being released sometime in 2000. So I guess we will just have to wait and see if it's any good. So when will we see it? I wouldn't get my hopes up for anytime earlier than the summer of 2001.
aw well...
