Need Help with an odd Modem Problem / Port forwarding

I'm currenlty using a Westell Wirespeed B90-220030-04 Dualconnect modem (external USB), and I am having a very bizarre problem: I cannot send any files through mIRC at all (internet relay chat), or any messenger (yahoo, aim, msn, the sort), But I can recieve them just fine. I can also upload to websites without any problems. I checked my comp on Auditmypc.com, and it shows that every port is blocked. Does anyone know how I could forward a port or allow one to bypass the firewall/routher/whatever is causing the prob in the modem? Of course i'm not absolutely sure its the modem that is the problem, but the file sends fail even with all of my firewall and security paused/off. According to some adobe document on the westell site it does indeed have an internal router and firewall on the modem, but only internet service providers can access the tech support areas. What gives?

Oh, i'm also using Windows 2000 Professional/NT and Bellsouth's fastaccess DSL if that'll help. The mIRC DNS lookup is unable to look up my ip as well, even though //say $ip shows it fine. (in case anyone uses it).

So does anyone know if there is anything I can do about it? And how exactly do you forward a port or set it to bypass? its been doing this for about a month now, and it is driving me insane. Thanks in advance.

I ran into the dead end at the Westell site as well when I got that modem last month from BellSouth. Fortunately, Broadband Reports.com has a direct link to the manual at the Westell site:

This page on the same site may also be helpful:

Good luck!
