Sometimes ISPs aren't ALL bad...

Got an email today from my ISP. It was marked as spam (of course) but I opened it anyway...

My DSL is 256/256 and capped at 10GB per month. Once I hit 10GB, I don't pay any more, but I get throttled to 128/128 for the rest of the month. I pay $69.95/month for this service. The cost is split by me and my room mate JT. So it's reasonable.

Anyway, the email tells me that FOR NO EXTRA COST, my connection is being upgraded to 8Mb/s downstream (max) and 512 Kb/s upstream. No change to the other conditions.

NICE!

Indeed... i know the feeling.
I'm stuck to 15GB/Month on DSL and 10GB/Month on cable...

What good is speed if you can download only a small amount of data ?

Bah. I'm averaging 30MB per day downstream. That makes a little over a gig per month, sharing the connect with two bro's.

I'm still happy to have 10MBit down though, when I use the pipe I like it to flood the gates :D

My DSL is a 512/512 SDSL, I can download or upload constantly all month long and my ISP never says or does anything. Most I have downloaded in a month is around 40-50 GB, most I have uploaded in a month is 65 GB. $69/mo.

Same -- except 768/512 ADSL.
