Well, It's a day out from the big US election. (Monday here now) and all I want to say is, no matter WHO wins the election, I hope that Democracy and the Democratic process is the supreme winner.

Please, Oh Please don't let the lawyers win it!

Amen to that. I just hope that, either way, it's enough of a margin to avoid the debacle of 2000.

This intends to be a great match-up. Democracy here in the United States has been going strong for quite a long time, stretching back to the early colonial days. But despite it's reputation and tradition of being a winner, Election Lawyers think they have a shot. They've trained for years for this one day.

Keys for the Game:
Democracy: Force Flordia to secede from the union.
Election Lawyers: Exploit Florida.

Election Lawyers....Democracy....Tuesday....7pm....

Top, this isnt football, the ultimate goal is not (should not) be for some party to win over the other, it is about choosing how you want to be governed, even a relatively small increase of votes in the "other" parties would give a strong message to whoever "wins" the elections, that is if you think that a message should be given, or if you actually care for that matter.
(No this isnt directed to you personally)

I watch the national BBC news only to find it infested with US Election stuff... it's not even their own country. Sigh.

its to let us know we're all fucked if Bush takes office for another 4 years... :P

I understand that IsAB, but from where I'm standing, voting for a person who's going to get a very small percentage of the vote is just throwing one's vote away; you're not really contributing to selecting the next person to take office. This is especially true in a close election like this one. While I repsect everyone's right to vote for whomever they wish, I've been getting sick of the "Go Nader!" mentality. :P

I agree. I'm sick of the symbolic crap that people are trying to push with third party candidates like nader and the like. If this were any other election I'd probably vote third party myself. Or if I lived in a state that was already predetermined, like Texas, I'd vote independent. But since I dont, I'm gonna vote for Kerry, because I believe another 4 years of Bush will just devastate this country and the only way to get Bush out is to do as much as I can to make sure Kerry gets in.

Vote symbolism if you want, but if you actually care wether or not Bush has another 4 years, vote for one of the major candidates.
