C'mon people, i want to see what your "computing area" looks like.
(Normally that card table/laptop isn't there, but I need to break it out to do some work on.)

Nice setup, especially that TV.
I don't have a digital camera, but just imagine a 19" CRT monitor wedged onto a 2x4 foot dinky college dorm desk.

You're either using the picture from another thread like this a loooong time ago, or that Reese's... thing just HAPPENS to be in the same spot.

Yeah, it's a ghetto Z11 printer.

The pic was taken 5 minutes before posting. That is
THE Reese's Mug. I've had it since I was a kid, and to this day its my mug of choice.
(AOL CD Coaster not included.) Even man's best friend likes the Reese's Mug!

I think it's funny that Stress has a wireless mouse, and a wired mousepad. Sweet setup, though.

Stress's desk is still the best setup I've ever seen.
Maybe some day when I'm not so damn lazy or cheap I'll try something like it.
Lol. I just noticed the finished setup. Is that a dedicated DBB/[H] browsing machine under the hutch?

/me scoffs at your clean desks... amateurs.
My main rig is visible to the left of my chair, on the floor. To the right of my dual monitors is my print server. Also of note are my new MX1000 laser mouse, wireless router (on the hutch), pile of old sound cards to the right of the mouse (project for the D3KBB), and dryer vent hose next to the door
(runs from my PSU fan, through a hole above the door, and down the hall).
I really need to get rid of some of this crap

I dig the F-15 model.
JMEaT: Your desk must never change. Seriously. Last thread like this you had the same lighting, same angle and the same Reese's cup...
Vindi: I so own you.
Guess I'll grab a pic...
Edit: Fear my desk!
Ok, what you're looking at: the pile of crap on the left is two wine bottles, a box for my portable MP3/CD/VCD player from Korea, an empty poptarts box, cologne, shaver, car keys, cell phone, Crutchfield mag, Korean CDs, Futurama Seasons 1 and 3 box covers, dagger, black KA-BAR, USMC combat knife, work's security key, sword from China Town on top of monitors.
Between monitors: Sidewinder Precision 2, speaker volume control, 593 yen, 1300 won, optical mouse, smartmedia card reader.
On right monitor: Gundam model from Mandarake anime store in Shibuya, a BoA CD on top of $320, another Korean cd on keyboard, various receipts. Just past that on right side of pic is previously mentioned cd player and two more computers, subwoofer.
There's more, but you don't really care.

Well that just settles it. You're definitely gay.

Happy?
(Also I turned the mug slightly to show that it is not frozen in that state of time.)
But for the record I am a neat freak... it's rare when my desk, let alone my house, gets trashed.

Gray case to the right is my gaming rig.
Black case on the left is my linux fileserver.
The case below the small 14" is my openBSD router.
Next to that is a legacy gaming pc (wh00t D1/D2)
Yes, my mousepad really is oversized, but i need about 3/4ths of that space to make an 180° turn in UT2k4

I usually just use my laptop for D3, work, most other stuff, when I play d3 I keep the joystick on the lapboard with some old bicycle inner tubes.
I usually just watch fansubs or TV and browse the web on this rig, but sometimes I play descent or doom3 on it:
The subwoofer is in back of the sofa, the speakers are in back of the screen. The computer is on the far end of the sofa, on the floor.

Nice projector setup. My college has similar setups on each of the teaching podiums, and the projectors provide surprisingly sharp and bright picture even in a lit room. Definetly something I'd love to have.
Can you use the projector as your only monitor, or doesn't Windows like installing/booting without a traditional monitor hooked up? How much was the projector?

I use the projector as my only monitor, using a DVI cable for a digital connection between the video card and the projector. The downside is that windows needs to boot before you get any video input; you can't tweak the BIOS when its hooked up that way. I think you could if you used an analog cable though, haven't tried it. The only times I've needed to do that I connected a regular monitor. My projector is a sanyo PLV-Z2, which has 1280x720 resolution, which is the same as HDTV 720p. You can pick one of those up for $1,700 or so these days, but its old news now. You can read all the obsessive details on the projectors here:
www.projectorcentral.com.
The screen is a draper high contrast gray, 84x84 inches. I only use it in 16x9 aspect ratio, so thats a 96 inch diagonal. Its a portable type, I think it was about 250$. The cost on one of these projector setups is really about the same as a rear projection HDTV, but you really get a lot more for your money IMHO.

Squrrels mostly and any other small pest that decides to set up housekeeping in the yard.
[attempt to keep this on subject] I am thinking about building a small shelf to set the gun over the window, I may post a pic of the results if I do.

You really need a Leupold on that rig.
What is the scope on that thing anyways?
Now...
Back on Track (sorry!)

How much would I have to bribe you to try the other cable real quick?
Have you tried projecting on a painted wall, or is a screen pretty much required?
How well does it keep up with fast paced action? Any blurring or smearing of bright colors like low-response LCDs do?
That price is a bit more then I would really want to spend, but then again there's all that beautiful screen realestate... I must investigate projectors further.
