Bumpmapping

Post by Duper »

I wasn't sure if this belonged here or the development forum, but since the artists visit here more..

Anyone know how bumpmapped textures can be created for D3 as a custom texture?

Well, I just open up Gimp, find the filter that says bump-mapping, click on it, figure out how much bump-mapping I want, go ok, save. convert the tga file to oaf. Stick it in D3 and I'm done. You need to have it on a robot or ship and not an environment though. :)

Probably a plugin or filter would do the trick. Emboss might too but I'm not familiar with PSP but emboss looked like the closest thing I could find. I think that there is a filter or plug-in that does this. :) Just look around in whatever paint program you are using. Or go download Gimp.
