Maybe there are Martians

Post by woodchip »

So who do you think the pit crew is giving the Rover a lube and fill up?

"Scientists have been baffled by a mysterious boost in power to one of its two robotic rovers which are exploring the surface of the Red Planet."

Well, with all the failures and power shortages recently, maybe the martians decided they could use a break.

wow. maybe a static buildup that is repelling dust from the panels?
it's probabaly more likely that it's a problem, perhaps some other component has stopped working (and dignosis isn't picking up it's lack of power use for some reason).

Don't forget, on Mars wind is a very low pressure event.

I saw this article but I haven't read it yet, but in another article they said that it's becoming the Martian summer, therefore days are getting longer and thus more light is getting to the solar panels.

Yes, 100 km/h winds on Mars would be tough to even feel on your face (if it were exposed to the wind).

Most likely a dust devil, with windspeeds of 1-200 kmh is responsible: just enough ooomph to move a thin layer of dust from the solar arrays.

Don't forget?
I wasn't aware of that. How do "we" know this?

(This is real question, not a retort. ;))
