Just an Idea

I don't know if this is possible, but here's the idea. Why don't we set up our own 'parallax online' server, to replace the old one. We could get the source code for the original server, and whatever other information we need to set it up, and then the programmers of the d3 community could make a patch that simply changes the address that descent tries to connect to PXO with, to the address of the replacement server?
I mean, we've got all these other servers dedicated to d3 already running... why don't we make one of them the NEW PXO!
Again, I don't know if any/all of this is possible (or even if that's what you'd have to do to replace the old PXO) but I'd like to hear anyone's feedback on the idea.

You've stated the main problem in with your solution. "Source code." We're never going to see it, so the point is moot. And besides, we have no need for PXO; there are multiple server trackers out there now that do the exact same job.

I know we don't NEED it, but it was a lot nicer than what we have. Well, maybe not 'a lot' depending on what program you're using.

Ohhh, PXO, I miss you so.

I miss it too, and asked the same questions (all be it with less technical knowledge) earlier. From what I here no one can get the owners of the pxo.net domain to respond let alone release it. I miss PXO too, I am a simple man that likes my recreation to be easy.

It's easier without PXO.
