Hyperspace Apotheosis

For those here that follow the levels, or not, then give it a go anyway :-) The third level in the set, Hyperspace Apotheosis has been released. This particular one is *entirely* ASSAULT based, as the CTF version will be a totally seperate release. The level is also designed for a good computer, and also requires a broadband connection to play online (although you can play Assault solo np). You can learn a bit about the level from this PD thread.

To download the level, head on over to this page and scroll down. You can also check out the "spiffy" little guide to the ships in Hyperspace by going to the "Hyperspace" page at the same site.

Note to servers Read the readme before running a dedicated. You NEED Mercenary installed (into the registry along with the raw files) to be able to run this as a dedicated. Private games/Joins should work ok, however, but not if the server is running the level without Merc - It will just crash the clients everytime!

Here be some development pics:

Hunter's actually out-done himself with this one. If you've haven't given it a try yet you're missing out.

one bug I found.

Reactor quits shooting at you if you are about 45 degrees ABOVE the objext FOV.

Not very important, just thought I'd mention it. Also, ther carrier does not blow up much .. 2 or 3 external "poofs". was there supossed to be more?

I'm realy impressed. Freekin hard to bring those bots down. Really strong. I had it set on insane once without realizing it. couldn't move when I respawned in. Got blasted from every angle. :P

You do know you're supposed to play it in assault, right? Because the level actually ends if you succeed in destroying the reactor.

Sorry, but it's not designed for single player. I was going to disable SP support entirely, but some folks like playing with cheats ;)

Btw Duper thats not a bug, Reactor doesn't shoot you in Assault. Believe me, if I wanted the reactor to shoot you, you can bet it wouldn't be puny Red Lasers ;)

Ok. The crash bug (occured only on dedicated games) has been finally (I think) fixed! Download the level again from DESCENT3UK, and overwrite your exisiting version and your set to go! :D

When I'm using D3DSN and I selected the game type Assault, Hyperspace: Apotheosis didn't appear. I think assault sould be lower case

errr....Nevermind

Ok, I've released the CTF/Entropy version. You can grab it by clicking here (4.7mb). It has a few changes to the Command Center (two new switch features), and the combat drones have been revamped to suit gameplay.

Gunboy = Heavy Drone (Moderate)
Seeker = Light Drones (Weak)
Proxmine = Energy Drones (Sad..)
