And before any of you start in about it being a Via chip. I'd take the Envy24-chip (Via) over any SoundBlaster or Turtle Beach offering for my HTPC.

The large caps are becoming more common in board construction. They do more and have more power running through them.

What is the copper? Heat sync? Noise sheild?

Man.. anything other than Creative, please.

Nice Article!! Can someone tell me what this means?

If you know anything about audio electronics you know that you just can't have big enough elco's in the filter. Back in the day when I built my own amp, I was pushing 40.000uF to stabilize power supply :)

As if Engrish wasn't bad enough, here's the Babelfish translation for Ice. (オンキヨー = Onkiyou = Onkyo, but that's pretty apparent anyway.)

The オンキヨー first 7.1ch sound card "SE-150PCI" where the large-sized condenser stands close together was sold. As for actual sale price 13,408 Yen - 14,800 Yen (as for detailsthing "of the new productreference which this week is found "). Of course the gourd is "treble quality".

Glancing the card, as for the feature which is understood previously expressed, the crowd of the kind of condenser which is done. In addition to the fact that very many electrolytic condensers have stood close together for sound quality improvement, rather than with one for PC also the large-sized item of the sun/size torso type which is not seen first is loaded and calling "the extended card of PC", the wind such as "the baseplate of the audio equipment". According to オンキヨー "you use also the extra large size electrolytic condenser which is utilized in the high-class audio equipment", that you say.

The prejudice to the sound quality we have reached to also the other aspects, besides the fact that the copper bus plate in order to strengthen gland electric potential (thickness 1.0mm/ width 7mm) you adopt, it loads also the same company individual sound quality improvement technology "VLSC". The on-board sound tip/chip with Envy24HT of VIA, corresponds to 192KHz/24bit output and 7.1ch output etc.. Optical digital input/output/the analog 2ch output connector has been attached on the bracket, as for analog 7.1ch output and the analog input connector it is the structure which jointly uses the branch cable which belongs.

With spread of onboard sound, there is an impression where also popularity of the sound card considerably has become the decline, but in the treble quality product the latest way being an interest in the sound card and certain. If it is to feel dissatisfaction in the present sound quality also it probably will be good to try examining such product.

And you ★■◆● about OUR spelling? ;)

[/off-topic]

Looks like it could be decent. Can't wait to see how well it performs. Holy ★■◆● @ the capacitors though. Last time I saw that many large capacitors on something was when I built my own AM radio. :D (Didn't have the right value caps, so I ended up using a bunch in series.)

"tropper" is a typo of "trooper".

"definatly" is a moronic spelling mistake.

Please try to understand the difference.

Thank for your participation!
