Has anyone gotten Vortex's relay function working?

I can't seem to get it going, I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong.
Can I get step-by-step instruction from someone who has it working? I am running WinXP SP2.

I haven't been able to get it to work either, although that could be because I'm on a campus network with unknown port status. The one time I did try it, D3 crashed back to the desktop. I'm also running XP Pro SP2.

I haven't had that problem, thankfully. I can join games normally, but the server list doesn't show up.

I am short of time atm.
Vortex -> Settings -> D3 Server ->
[x] Activate Relay-Function
Descent 3 Port 2093
If you start D3 with Vortex it should work (if not check if it helps to add "-useport 2093" to your commandline options in the D3 Settings.
The same is necessary if you start D3 manually (without Vortex): You have to add that "-useport 2093" to your commandline in the misc tab.
You can choose other ports than 2093 (but for all then) except the 2092 - Vortex needs it exclusively to get the relay functions working. You might get a "TCP-IP is not active on your system" error if no useport is configured or useport 2092 is set.
This function is a broadcast message. Maybe your firewall is blocking this or your router settings have these "LAN Broadcast" disabled (check this if the way above don't work).
Would like to admit that this is not the forum where we betatesters and the developer Skorpion are reading.
Whow. My english still sucks but I am too lazy to correct. Hope you understood AND it works...

Thanks Checkor! Your English is 10000 times better than my German.
I would have posted on the other forum but I had a secret double purpose in posting here

Ok here is what I have done:
First I set the relay "ON" and set the port to 2093 (it defaulted to 1094 or some such)
Then I added the useport commandline to vortex
and to d3
I'm looking under tcp/ip and scanning for local games... is that correct?
Because I'm not seeing anything.
(EDIT: Last image was incorrect link)

that -useport 2093 in the commandline-setting of Vortex isn't necessary but okay. If relay function enabled Vortex will automatically start D3 with the -useport command.
The question is how do you start your D3...
If you start your D3 with something else than Vortex (usually Launcher, batchfile D3Cleaner etc.) you HAVE to add the -useport 2093 THERE.
Example:
You can test the following: Open Vortex with serverlist, choose a server, rightclick on it and select "Join Game". This will launch you directly into the game. After you entered the server, leave it and you'll come back to the Direct-TCP-IP-Game Panel. Click on "Scan for local games" and now you should see the games. If not it has to be a firewall-setting or router-setting...

I fixed my post, Checkor, I'd made a mistake in my links.
It is not/was not working for me under either of the circumstances you described. I tried from Vortex and from D3 launcher and it didn't work.
I turned off the windows firewall and have no hardware firewall and it still didn't work...I'm really sad because this is a neat feature.

strange! do you have another computer there? if yes run Vortex (without chat and serverlist tuned on but with relay enabled to port 2093) there and turn off the relay on the Vortex you use for chat and serverlist. I know that this is not the "real" solution but please try that for finding the error.
How do you connect to the internet? DSL-Modem or Router? There is a router option wich maybe has the wrong setting. We already had az least one betatester with that problem wich was solved then.
Do you have a static or a dynamic IP on your LAN-Card's TCPIP Settings?
OFFTOPIC: regarding your deadzones: correct values would look like this: "-deadzone0 0.0 -deadzone1 0.0"

I connect to the internet through an external broadband modem which is connected directly to my ethernet card.
This computer is not on a LAN. I am going to try some other stuff to get this working before I give up I'll report what does not work for me, and what does.
Off Topic: Yes, I noticed that when I looked at YOUR commandline. I re-did my command line when I added in the useport and apparently made a mistake. Thanks for reminding me I'd forgotten!
EDIT: Firewall OFF, did not work. Ports open in firewall did not work. My computer doesn't seem to have a LAN ip (192.168.xxx.xxx), instead in ipconfig I see my WAN IP.
Would this affect things?
