And to think I made some copies and gave them away.
Too bad Ace never returned the blank replacement disks like he promised. I now have a sour taste from being so kind.

I suggest you check out
Hard Light Productions. Not only is there information on what you desire, but a TON of resources such as the Source Code Project (updating the game's engine to support more things like stenciled shadows, cell shading, specular texturing, glow maps, etc) and links where you can download Freespace 2
legally.

Your kindness hinges on having 98 cents worth of CD-ROMs replaced? o_O
Hell Woody, send me your address to ChrisAT4sure.co.nz, and *I* will send you two blank 700 MB TDK ROMs.

Vinnie you are a man who keeps his word.
Mobius, the cost of the disks is not the sticking point. A mans word should represent his honor.

Like MD said, definitely check out Hard Light Productions. Not only do they have ways to download FS2 legally, I believe someone recently put up copies of the ISO images of all 3 FS2 disks. It may not be exactly legal, but you shouldn't have to pay those absolutely ridiculous prices on eBay.
(Actually, if you read the FS2 EULA, it allows for making copies of the game for LAN use, so you might be able to argue that sending copies to someone is perfectly legal.
