not at all, it would have mostly been puppetry - a human decked out with those IR ball things so a computer can track em.

The choreographer for Justin Timberlake was suited up with one of those light point suits and did the moves, the animation was done by a studio here in Vancouver B.C. I recognize some of the buildings in the background.
No puppetry involved.
