I was on Kali on saturday when Duper came on and was having problems with his new DSL. I asked if he had a router and he said no. So I asked the wife is she minded I give him one since we now owned 3. So I packed it up, and went to the Post Office and shipped it off AIR so he would get it for xmas.
What have you done?

My tennant is out of work and has to move into public housing, something to do with insurance on his kids, state assitance he needs is forcing him, or so he says. He has always paid on time and kept me informed of things I sould know without being a pest - he has 6 kids. I knocked two hundred off his rent and told him to use it on the kids for Christmas.

Was walking down Ponsonby Road in Auckland last weekend and walked past a guy (who looked about my age) sitting on the side of the road wrapped in a blanket, with a small carboard sign which said "No Home and No Money."
He was looking pretty down.
I kept going for about 5 seconds, then turned around, went back and gave him all the cash I was carrying, including coins. Was about $47 or so. Told him Happy Christmas.
He gave me a big smile and said "Thanks very much".
I guess he spent it on drugs - but hell, that's what I was gonna spend it on anyway. Hope he had a good time.

Is it my impression or does Mobi's post condense everything that's wrong with our modern socity in a few sentences?
My good deeds are towards a girl in particular, and as such, are quite selfish.

tri, some comedian said that line about "but he's just gonna spend it on drugs, well hell that's what I was gonna spend it on anyway!". could have been Bill Hicks.

I was the recipient of someone's good deed the other day. I was standing in line at Wal-Mart with a bag of potato chips and a box of envelopes in my hand. A woman and a man that I have never seen before were in the process of paying in front of me. Without saying anything, the woman grabs my chips and envelopes, tells the clerk to add the items to her bill and to put them in a separate bag. While the clerk is ringing up the items, the guy said "How about that? She does this sort of thing." She then hands me the bag and says "Merry Christmas." I couldn't help but think that her effort would have been better spent on someone who actually needed it, but I thought it best not to say anything, so I just smiled and said "Thank you."
She scared the heck out of me when she grabbed my stuff.

Wow, that is awesome. To bad more people don't do things like that.

Now that's nice. That's beyond nice actually...
But most of the other stuff you guys have put on here was either selfish or you should do things like that every day. Be nice every now and then just to be nice...for no reason. It's okay..
If i didn't say thank you every time some one held a door open for me or did or said something nice for me.......well i would feel just wrong. It's rude and mean not to show that your thankful when people do nice things for you. And hold the door open for somebody when they are walking behind you.
