Waiting for the light to turn Amber

By now we have all heard about the incident in Skidmore MO. It's so sickening I don't even want to post some of the details. What I found interesting though is that the Amber Alert was not issued for a number of hours because the missing child was a fetus. Yet when found the child was healthy. So the question is, will this incident put another dent into Roe vs Wade? If the classification of human life is such that a unborn fetus taken from the womb does not warrant a immediate Amber Alert, will that now change in light of the Skidmore incident?

I live right in between where it happened and where the kid was found.

The twisted suspect found the victim through an Internet BB....Sorry, Chippy, but I'm not giving you directions to my house... ;)

And as a side note to WC trying to tie the timing of the Amber Alert to RvW. I would like to point out that the local TV stations have indicated that the delay was due to the fact that they were trying to determine if there was a legitimate chance of the fetus surviving the impromptu C-Section and the rarity of the need to look for a fetus being stolen from the womb--there's not a whole lot of SOPs for that situation.

If you don't believe in miracles, I'd hope that the story of that baby makes you reconsider.

Isn't Skidmore the same town where some bully lived and terrorized the place?

Yes. Skidmore is the same town where someone shot and killed the town bully in broad daylight and all the residents clammed up about it. That was in 1981, I think....

Death is too good for scum like Lisa M. Montgomery. A monster like that deserves to live out her pathetic life in isolation and near starvation.

I am concerned that whether or not it was a fetus was a deciding factor. If there is any chance a human life could be saved from the clutches of a vile, wretched killer it must be done. There is always time to argue semantics later. This time is a luxury this child could not afford.

For the record, I believe to a limited extent in a woman's right to choose. But, I draw the line at late-term abortions. I am very much against these. I think they are morally and ethically wrong and could only rationalize one if the mother's life was directly threatened. If one chooses to abort, they have to make that decision - in my opinion - before "consciousness" is created. Before it can hear, kick, and react. This, I would assert, is very late-term.

Well, if that's the way you want to play it, better at McDonald's than a telemarketer (or even a lawyer). :P
