i was under the assumption that since they weren't actually hosting any ilegal files that the mpaa/riaa couldnt do anything about it.
i downloaded alot of tv shows there because with my work schedule i cant be home to watch them. freely available stuff. like the simpsons and that 70s show and whatnot that airs on free tv.

Well, if they host the .torrent files and/or run the trackers they can be shut down.

Don't forget, "free TV" isn't, its commercial TV, people still make money off of it, they don't make money off your bit torrent downloads, if they did we wouldn't be having a problem would we?
I think it is only a matter of time before the .torrent files and trackers all become completely peer to peer.

i didnt use suprnova much anyway. i did when i first discovered the torrent scene and didn't know of other places and it was a great site. i'm not too upset though, 99% of my downloading gets done elsewhere. but it sucks nonetheless

I doubt it'll be down for long. They'll just get another host outside the MPAA's jurisdiction.

exactly Krom. they're pissed because they're not getting their chunk of the pie, and they'll sue whoever they choose to get it.
