I havr 4 AMD CPUs and they run from 32C all the way up to 62C without any problem. Seems like I remember running up into the mid to high 60s gave me stability problems.
68 C is my max stable temp, running a lowly XP1800+ CPU.
I got this reading from a digital doc using a temp sensor placed as close to the core as possible, but
it might have been measuring the substrate temp.
The motherboard monitor never read higher than 61C, but I've heard that it's not an accurate reading.
I seriously doubt you'll get much higher than 70C without issues.
My 2700+ generally idles at 41-42 and games around 46-47. I think I had it cranked up to 50 under load during the summer once, but it's never had stability issues. I have a Thermalright SLK-800 heatsink with a mild 27CFM fan on it.
What heatsink/fan are you using and what temperatures are you running at? Is there some reason you need to run it hot?
Ive got the stock HS/F on it and I run it at full load all the time for the DBB Folding team. It runs at anywhere from 47 to 57 depending on how wide I have the window open and how cold it is in here.
most athlon xp's that i've had couldnt go over 60c with out causing problems. one of them was a 1200... it ran in the mid 60's under a full load and it didnt last more than 2 years...
