You may remember me as MUADIB or GRENDAL. It has been over three years since I played. I am nearly ready. I have my new new system, stick and get my broadband tomorrow.
My question is. How do I find rooms to kill you guys online? Is the old PXO still up and running? Do I connect straight out of the startup like I use to do? DO I need new patches?
I have configired my joystick and played the bot. am lost past this point. Can someone re-teach me?
Good to see that you guys are still here. Many thanks

What is vortex game tracker?

Vortex is a standalone program that interfaces directly with tcp/ip trackers to let you find a game, and connects to the chat channels that we are now using in lieu of PXO. It operates a lot like GLmax, from what I've heard (don't know if you're familiar with it or not).

Jeez, I actually remember him, but I don't think I've seen him here or in chat/game for years.

RanDUMB! Ya, he was in chat about 6 months ago, and playing too, a little. He probably saw what people are playing and figured why play.

Well, I got on last night with my dial up. Thanks for the help. I see what you mean. There are not alot of people playing that I could find. I remember when I would have to wait nearly an hour to get in a good game.
I was a little rusty but I contribute most of that to the new stick.
Thank for the help. Come kill the coconut tonight. Ill be on Kali

I also am looking to get back into online gaming. I just bought D3 merc pack on line. My last game was about eight years ago. I played D2 mostly and D3 was brand new then.
I got abunch of dumb questions about modern gaming too. I used to play Kali, but I guess D3 is not played much there.
I only have a dialup connection. Any suggestions?

D3 is really tough online with only dialup. It's just plain hard to hit stuff.
As for playing online: get Vortex from
http://www.slyclan.de/ . It basically is a chat client and a game browser -- similar to Kali, but for D3 only (and it's free.) It also allows you to autodownload levels and mods.
Also, make sure you get the latest patches for D3 from
http://www.planetdescent.com/site/files/d3/patches/ . Note that you might have to get a patch labelled for a different country than you're from -- I live in the US but somehow ended up with an Australian version of D3 (I think there was a distribution error somewhere along the line.)
And good luck...
