KOTOR 2 discussion: Spoilers

Post by []V[]essenjah »
Holy CRASP!! WTH WAS THAT!!!1

I just finished this game and I now have that horrid second part of a sequel feel but it is worse than any game I have ever played!! I absolutly hated the ending to this game.... after 60+ hours of gameplay.... yet it was cool at the same time!!

What kills me here is....

1. You don't get to stay with Visas, the Handmaiden and Revan doesn't get Bastilla?

Why can't they let a cool jedi get the girl in the end? I want to see love previal over the force for once LOL!!

Anyway, it was a great game all and all. The biggest annoyance was the ending mission. It was great up until then.

Why this level killed it for me:

1. After you build a story with all of the characters around you. You only take Mira with you. Now, Mira only traveled with me in order to kill me. Why would I select to take her? I would rather take Visas and the Handmaiden who would have pretty much sacrificed themselves for me and it would have been much more in-character for them to have traveled with me being that they requested that they fight by my side through other parts of the final battle. It would have been a much more interesting ending had something happened to them in the end, thus making it more difficult for you to fight against the will of the dark side. Then the story would have been more complete in a way. They really didn't explain the fate of the others. It also would have been interesting had something happened to Visas when you fought her master and the handmaiden traveled with you being that I trained her as a jedi. It would have been cool to see her travel with your character at the end. Then you get to keep at least one character with you in the next game.

Oh, not to forget, I never did find the HK-50 factory. I wanted to find out what became of it and I wanted to see HK-47 end up with me at the end of KOTOR 2. At least Brianna should have been there at the end though.

Still a really good game but not as good as KOTOR 1. It was really worth the time and money!! Really the only reason it wasn't as good in my book was because of the ending. They really should have let you take whatever characters you wanted to in there. I thought it was really cool but needed to end differently.

3 felt complete at the end and a game this long should feel complete at the end. That is what drives you to play this game. I felt less like I wanted to spend time on the bonus missions in this game and I felt less relaxed playing it unlike the first game. This game should be more about side plots, character development, and exploration. This one felt more like a straight forward fighting game where you can't even control your own character. The way they did it made it really fun but at the same time.

Also, I never could find the cool assassin swords that the first game had. I liked those much better than lightsabers personally.

The other annoying thing is that lightsabers were very rare to find in this one. In KOTOR 1, you could find a lightsaber off from any sith or jedi. In here you could find double bladed lightsabers and short lightsabers all over the place but could you find a regular one? Nope!! The only regular single blade I could find was my own that I had to build out of different parts.

From what I understand, double-bladed lightsabers are supposed to be extremely rare!! And I found them all over the place!!

I also didn't get the fact that Mira won against that stupid wookie and then appeared to be heading somewhere but never showed up at all to help you out.

Also, it seems that at the end of this game.... I became a sith no matter what? At the end it was said that I am not a true jedi.... yet I am the last?

Not to mention that Vrook and all the other jedi are dead. The only one left that I can think of would be Bastilla, since Brianna gave up being a jedi (if I remember it correctly), and Visas they simply say goes back to her homeworld, unless of course she becomes the last.

I guess they really needed to bring a better sense of conclusion to the story with the other remaining characters.
This REALLY SUCKS!! Just as they build you up for the final installment.... they ditch the final game altogether before it is even produced.

This is like Twin Towers with no Return Of The King but worse.

There is no conclusion at all. You and all your friends and everyone in the first games gets their asses handed to them.

That's "Two Towers," right? Twin towers was another bad ending where everyone got their asses handed to them.

Thanks for the heads up though, I really enjoyed the first KOTOR. I want to be prepared for a bad ending when I play all those hours.

Dude its a game.

But all that aside, I did find the ending very unsatisfying; they left a bunch of loose-ends untied. And I beat the game with both light and dark sides; it doesn't get any better.

The first one ended everything very neatly; all the characters and their histories in relation to you are explained. Actually, the second game felt kinda like the ending of Empire Strike's Back...there are many questions left unanswered.

Too bad there's no third game.

LOL, actually Beo, I was intending my post to be looked at with a sense of humor :D

It sucks though.

I thought it was worse than Empire Strikes Back by a long shot. When I watched ESB, I felt somehow like everything tied together nicely. It didn't say what the exact outcome of everyones lives would be. That some characters will enevitably die, that a jedi you trianed will give up.... and that you will never find love.

You instead, knew there would be a third part with all of the characters from the first parts there, you knew that their fates were yet, undetermined.

You also knew that Han and Lea's characters did love each other.

The final conflict was also played out with most of the characters. Each had their place in it.

The ending left you knowing that they were going out to search for Han.

If you notice Lucas nearly always ties up the story nice and neat. They don't usually leave loose ends like this.

This was left off with everyones screwed anyway.

Anyway, one thing is, that there "might" be a KOTOR 3 yet. No one officially declared it as dead and these games have racked in a ton of money. So lets all hope that it is at least a thrilogy. But I will be ticked if there is no part 3. That is what would balance out 2 and tie everything up. I wish they would just say that there will be a KOTOR 3 at least. Really annoys you when they do this to you.

I dont think LA is that dumb to make its fanbase mad and not make a third in the series considering how sucessful the previous titles were. Then again when you are all in it for the money, it may still be a possibility. But Kotor 2 for PC hasn't even been out yet, so its too early to tell. Mayby after they restructure the company there will be something official. But too soon now.
