Or a fully automated bulldozer, complete with wall-sensing equipment and tank treads. :)

www.zometool.com -- a far superior modeling tool.

For a thousand bucks, you can get 2 of these:

yeah, geomags are magnets. they are not just clicky-clicky-stay-together plastic garbage.
they are magnets, joined together by ballbearings, you can't make structures that don't support their own weight, so you must think about how you make things. it's like... engineering or architecture and the like.

the cheapest i've seen the pieces averages to about 2 for $1.
none of this lego stuff. this magnetic stuff is highly educational and good.

I got one a long time ago. Unfortunately, with the help of a freind, I discovered all possible stable shapes that use its 16 (i think) pieces.

Makes a great paperweight, though.

Hehe, I got a small set of these for Christmas this year. They are fun to mess with while I'm waiting for a program to compile.

not to mention you can build things out of legos that are much more fun to tinker with. ie: walking robots. (bipeds with the right weight distribution)

magnets are fun, but they're static. field interference would prohibit any kind of interactive model.
