Just give me a sure thing.

The nVIDIA GeForce FX5950 ULTRA looks nice, but with these things you can't be sure unless you ask someone with experience, knowledge & power.

I'm not looking to spend a fortune on the newest & bestest card (like the FX5950 ULTRA), I'm looking for the "best bang for my buck" I'd guess you would say.

But if the $385(Newegg.com) for the GeForce FX5950 ULTRA really is worth the money than I'll get that.

What do you guys think?

Here's my system as of the now:
- Abit IS7
- P4 2.4C
- nVidia GeForce TI4200 (POS that's dying out)

- 1GB RAM
- Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
- Thrustmaster Top Gun Afterburner II

Thanks.

nVidia 6600gt is a lot of card for the money from what I've read and it now out in AGP form, originally it was PCI-Express only. I think it goes for around $200 and out performs a lot of higher priced cards.

yeah.

if you want faster than what you have now, get a 6600gt.

its faster than an 9800pro.

GeForce FX 5950 Ultra for $385? Did this thread pop out of december 2003 or something? You can practicly get the 256MB version of the 6800 GT for that much.

If ur going to put anything much over a 6600GT in there with the 2.4ghz Intel ur going to be CPU limited

I would say the 6600GT would suit u good, better then a 5950U and a lot cheaper

u have a half way decent MB and a C chip so u could always OC, dont know what kind of ram u have tho

I beleive the RAM is PC3200 DDR but I'm not sure which Brand.

And yeah, I'm not OCing my CPU at all as of the now.

Thanks for the replys though, I had no idea.......................
