I almost hit a huge cop truck that was at a stop light once. That was because I was caught in the middle of a blizzard and found some nasty black ice. Was only going maybe 25 mph in heavy traffic. Hit the breaks and skidded a long assed ways. My car stopped inches away from the vehicle luckily. I never want to come that close again.

I have no remorse for this guy. There are too many people following too close behind cars these days thinking they are invincible or under control. People like that are asking for it and deserve the consequences that they get and more. Thanks to these folks, insurance is high and they make driving miserable for the rest of us as the state lowers the speed limit in an effort to curb accedents when really they should take liscences away from people who cant get a freaking clue such as this guy.

I hope his insurance skyrockets so he gets the idea finally. He should get another ticket for driving a Honda, but thats convo for another thread.

Meh, I hate people that tailgate. Idiot is lucky it wasn't worse than it already is. I say the cop should take his license and force him to go to a driver's ed course (and I don't mean some cookie cutter class, I mean one that you literally have to bust your ass to pass) in order to get his license back.

alright so i was driving home one day from work. building inground cement pools. now i don't know if any of you are fimiliar with that kind of work but i can garuntee that its some of the hardest construction work you can find. and i had 1 beer before i left the job site for the day. and i left from the shop an hour later driving home after a 12 hour workday. and i was just following behind a red durango alrdy going a little over the speed limit just cruising along and me with it. then over the hill and it got into the turn lane keeping on going i thought it was just slowing down a little for the hill, not to turn, but just for the hill and thats when i slid into the cop going about 35 on a main highway with speed limit of 45 no kids around to have kind of danger to people. and i slid into him. and we got out and assed the situation. he smelled the alchohol on me and i explained to him my situtiation and he did let me go. not go to jail or have my car toed. a traffic violation. was all i recieved. Now you people get on here and try to insult my MORALITY in life. You come on here casting a stone like you never even speeded a little around ur urban neighborhood after a long days work. So go ahead and trying to demean someone who is just a person like u and has a mistake in his life that are just bad random sitiuations in ur life. but thats all i have to say and ★■◆● yall for making me get on a message board with no account and have to wait to put this ★■◆● to rest

I was probably a bit harsh in my post as I was venting after seeing all kinds of nonsense every day when I drive, but driving is a serious thing and even the silliest mistake can cost a life. I am not hear to demean you or insult you or anything, but there are way too many people out there who dont take driving seriously and think they are invincible. This selfish idea needs to change.

You just need to come to terms that mayby you need to change your habits and mayby learn to drive like a grandma if you want to avoid trouble in the future. Being late for work? Well to bad, how much is a life worth for being late for work? Or even paying higher rates for insurance? That money you save by being more careful next time could be put into better use.

Again this is not to insult you but you have to change some things and realize that safety is more important than not being late or (insert random excuse here that we all have to face and deal with anyway on a day to day basis). You can come up with all of the excuses in the world but none of that is going to lower your insurance or fix your car or even revive a life thats been taken away by someone's carelessness. Driving is dangerous and you need to realize that, take your lumps as you go and move on with life learning from your mistakes with the intention that you will be more careful now than before.

Dragon, you're damn lucky that cop was nice about it. He could've really put you through some real ★■◆● over it. Especially when you weren't paying attention to your surroundings. He could've easily thrown you in jail for DUI (whether you were drunk or not is irrelevant), impounded what was left of your vehicle, had your driver's license revoked, etc. You're also damn lucky you didn't hit any people.

Reading back I am actually surprised that the cop gave you what he did, you got off easy and are damn lucky for it. You'd better take it as a blessing and be more careful next time.

Sure, we all make mistakes. But after going through 5 cars in 2 years, when does it stop being a mistake? At the very least it means we get to kid you a little.
