Real Cloak of Invisibility??????

ran across this article quite by accident.

Very interesting. I would love to see something like this in action just to see how effective it is.

Yes, it is possible, but not the way they describe.

They're currently working on LCD's (already developed, perhaps I should say "making more feasible") that can be woven into fabric. With a combination of cameras on all sides, and a blanket woven out of this material, a fairly good cloaking device could be made.

The Dark Star UAV already uses a very primitive form of cloaking: a light sensor on top senses the ambient brightness of the sky and adjusts the brightness of lights along the bottom of the vehicle. Thus: no black outline of an aircraft in the sky.

This is just great for those microscopic objects with a single wavelength of light hitting them that I want to hide.
