If any of you ever watched "Mallrats", I'm like the guy that stared at that 3d picture of the schooner... my brain just isn't wired for this ★■◆●!

Focus your eyes several inches beyond the screen.

Get yourself looking past the image- try looking at the reflectoins that there are on the screen. then, just move your head back a little bit and make sure you stay focused past the screen.

Who would have known the nice ANTI-GLARE LCD monitor would someday kick me in the ass! Now I have a bigger headache!

I'm gonna lay down now... I'll try again later with a nice glare ridden monitor out in the garage.

Thanks guys!

I don't have an anti-glare monitor and I couldn't see it either.

These can be kind of fun. But damn it hurts your eye after awhile.

When I first saw this magic eye stuff, I couldn't get it for hours using the glare method. Instead, just start to cross your eyes, looking at the image. For an instant, there'll be a position where the image will just snap into place, then you'll probably have to go back and forth until you find the sweet spot.. Just do it once and you've got your eyes trained to do it instantly anytime.

Oh my god.. it feels like someone has kicked me in the side of the head.

All you need to do is get your eyes to be able to move slightly independent of eachother. Focusing on a point beyond the screen helps a bit.

The trick is to find two similiar points in the image. If you look at it, there are patterns, like waves or lines that repeat. Cross your eyes slightly to make them overlap and you'll see the image.

I got Stage 4, but Stage 5 seems to be beyond me.

Had to flood fill with 0 tolerance to get Stage 4. Not enough cintrast on my screens otherwise.

Stage 5.... hmmmmm.... tricky!

I got bored and cheated. I'm going to bet stage 5 is not browser compatible...

Well, the first page did say to use Internet Explorer.
I just opened the picture in MSPaint and used the paintbucket to fill in the area around the word.
Yeah... stage 5 depends on the way your browser does image highlighting.

I tend to get about 5-6 stages in to these things and then give up. If I'm going to solve puzzles, I'm going to solve puzzles I get paid for ;)

It has to do with the properties of the missing image.

Years ago I got the kids a calender with all those hidden image drawings. I think eventually I used those drawings to start a fire in the wood burner

Hehe, I love those magic eye things. I used to draw those when I was bored in class--the principle's really simple.

im pretty sure my monitor is anti-glare, you can still see the magic eye.

Posted: Sat Mar 05, 2005 12:36 am

the glare helps you train your eyes to do it right... all you need to see it is to know how to look past the image correctly.

Whats the deal with #4?

a white box? I've used FF and IE6 nothing different

Duper:
Copy that picture to the clipboard, paste it into paint, and use the Fill tool (paint bucket) to fill the image with black. Some parts of the image aren't pure white and they won't get filled black.
WTF at Stage 7?! Oh, those ★■◆●ing bastards... got it.

stage four is easy with a LCD, you just tilt your screen at a weird angle until the difference in pixelation shows up hehe. i can't do number 5 tho because i refuse to use IE

I made it to stage 12, I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Anybody else make it that far?
