Okay, I have a hard drive that is partioned into two. How do I format them back together so they aren't partioned anymore?

fdisk
delete both partitions
recreate one partition

If you want to do it without losing any data, use Partition Magic.

nevertheless, you should back up your stuff before rising the magic partition wand. i heard it's not failproof ...

Try using a bootable Linux CD. Or, if what Xciter said can be done from the Recovery Console, do that. Either way, the hard drive is never touched except to write the partition table, sparing a possibility for data corruption.

And yes, as always, back up your data.
