print spooler preventing computer from entering Standby

I have a friend who has a Dell Inspiron 8600 running XP.

She gets the above message. She also just installed a HP Officejet 4215 All-in-One

Any ideas?

Does she have any documents pending to print?

Try going into the printer properties and setting it to "not spool" and just "start printing immediately".

Or "STFU Mobius" if you're not a pedantic twit who gets off from correcting people's grammar mistakes while they're trying to help someone with a problem, not writing an English paper.

But then again Mobitroll will never see this message because he'll never visit this thread again. Tard.

No D, let him keep it up. I have little doubt that if this continues his posting privilges may be revoked.

I have a suggestion. When you want to start a running commentary that doesn't have much if anything to do with the original post, start a new post.

That would save the original "poster" from having to continually check on-line when a "reply" e-mail notice is received that ends up having nothing to do with his question.

I appreciate all the help I receive from the forum but running commentary is not helpful.

The message has gone away so I believe she must have had a print job pending. Thanks for the post.

thewolfe, don't tell the moderators and the administrator how to do their jobs. The discussion is relevant to this thread. And just so you know, we do communicate amongst ourselves.

Guys, c'mon. The issue has already been dealt with, so just let it go. thewolfe had a legitimate gripe, so theres no reason to jump on him like that in public view. He wasn't TELLING us how to do our jobs, just asking that we not do it in this thread since he has e-mail notification enabled for this thread.

Now the problem described in the original post has been solved, so lets just let this one die, mmmk?

No, we want to spam his inbox more...

Actually I think you can disable email notifications on a thread you have it set for by editing your first post and unchecking the box, not entirely sure, but worth a try.
