So Whats the verdict? Is it safe, worth installing? Anyone installed it? I read
This and it looks promising. Link for download is at the bottom of the page.
Last thread on this was back in January so I started a new one.

M$ bought
Giant late '04. Their antispyware program is very good, so M$ converted it into their portfolio w/in a month or two
And yes, I happyly use it along w/ Spybot S&D plus Spywareblaster (and a virus scanner of course) on all my machines.

I believe the MS anti-spyware is a run-once application.

I use Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and Spyware Blaster. When I installed M$ Anti-Spyware it found no intrusions that the others didn't find. One thing that really bugs me about it is that out-of-the-box it screws up batch files (of which I heavily use). It prompts for protection when you run it but if you allow it to run, it screws up the working directory of the batch file (changes it from the batch file directory to C:\Windows\system32). I use so many batch files that are sensitive to the working directory that I cannot tolerate this. I can turn the feature off but hey, the program isn't finding any intrusions that are not already handled so ...
Uninstalling ...

Since I started using Firefox, Ad-Aware and Spybot have picked up one instance of spyware between them; I doubt that Microsoft's product will find anything either.
