High-Poly Descent 3 Models Idea?

Is it possible to use, say, Kuman's models (ANY high res model) in the Descent 3 engine?
If so, could someone convert said extreme-high-poly models into Descent 3's model format?
I just figure, my video card could more than handle it, so why not try?
