Ditching the wireless

I have had so many problems with my wireless network that I am going back to Cat5 connections. I had the Linksys Wireless-G WAP54G and it died in a thunderstorm last week. I will not be replacing it because I am sick and tired of my 3 PCs loosing connection 2 and 3 times a day, forcing a reboot to reconnect (repair the connection doesn't work).

I think I am having problems because the WAP54G runs at 2.4 Ghz like the 5 phones we have here.

Hmmm, I suppose its possible. I run a cat5 network in my 2 story town house cables are outta sight and outta mind so I really don't notice.

IN cases where a reboot seems necessary, the following (non-reboot) workaround is often effective:

Power cycle router/modem
Check connectivity

Where connectivity does not exist: (On each affected computer)
>Start Menu
>Run
>ipconfig /renew
