I'm curious as to the various versions of Descent2 that are in use today. Pick your poison.

This poll is a nice idea, Jeff!

I mainly use Diedel's version on my P4-WinXP PC. But I also use the D2-3dfx version on my P3-Win98se PC every now and then.

I'm using D2X 2.5 for the moment, only because I haven't really played D2 in over a month and haven't gotten around to downloading Diedel's version.
I'll definitely get the new version before the next D2 Revival, though.

I'm using D2x 0.2.5 for Linux, works like a charm. I tried D2x for Windows, but the graphics were rather buggy.

The only d2x that supports my config is d2x-w32. It also rocks cause I can run it at 1600x1200

D2X-sdl in Win98 compatibility mode. I actually prefer the blocky, pixelated graphics over OpenGL's fuzzy look. It feels more like I'm playing the genuine D2.
I use version 1.2.6.0 of the SDL library as it seems to be the most stable (1.2.7 crashed to desktop regularly...) ...though 1.2.6 just ctd when blue key aquisition opened a hidden wall...

You can disable the blurring in D2X-W32 by sticking a semicolon in front of -gl_trilinear in D2X-W32's d2x.ini. I just tried it, made me feel like I was on an ultra powerful computer that could actually do decent framerates in D2 at 1280x0124

kencl,
the current SDL version is 1.2.8.

You can still get this effect in D2x-W32 by commenting the "gl_trilinear" parameter in the D2x ini.

Ugly duckling here. (Mac user)
The infamous Mac versions of the D2 movie files don't work with D2X. If anyone would to share their PC versions with me (just the movie files) I'd be most delighted if you pm'ed me. [I apologize in advance if this is an illegal request, but I do own D2]
