I really,
really hate to burst your bubble, but way back in 2001 when I was a staffer for PlanetDescent
I submitted a POTD that
compared Del Hoyo to his digital counterpart.

On the moon, you discover the same mine you destroyed at the very beginning of Descent 1.
Really? I never notice that. I will have to go back and play that level again.

David Warner was born in Manchester, cool. Only 20 miles from here.
I can imagine his voice being that of Chancellor Gorkon.

too bad the CGI didn't match the voice talent caliber.

Aggressor Prime its level 10 before you go out side.
Any way I notice when they remade level one it was done backwards. The area you came up from needed to be on the left side. Instead it was put on the right side. Has any one else ever notice that.

Yes, me
And they left out the other areas you could go into in D1. And their recreation of it is WAY too small. But it was cool seeing what they did with it post-destruction.

Wholy Sheet !.. He's The Voice !.. I even installed The Curse Of Monkey Island onto my 486 DX ! LOl !@
On another voice-over other-gender note: does anyone remember when Jillian Anderson ( Agent Skully on the X Files) was the voice of the Guide (bot) in MS's Hellbender ..? (D3 -like game..) ? .. That was sexy man !... She made me want to blow up again and again, persevering forever on the next mission to blow a reactor.. or some other alien base thing... in the rain or under ground... Homing Viper missles.. etc etc...

Yup, VERY VERY OLD stuff but good for the newbies.
I remember Hellbender. Seemed like a pretty cool game.
I used to play that at school telling the kids that there is a game called Descent 2 that is much better and had a lot more robots slung at you at any given time. They were playing a simple demo of it. They wouldn't believe me heh.

Hellbender looked a LOT nicer than D2, at least as far as my memory goes. It was OpenGL-accelerated, I believe, and they did a great job on the texture work.

Hellbender was Direct3D, a sort of spiritual sequel to "Fury 3", which itself was basically a port to Windows (with some changes to the singleplayer) of the DOS game Terminal Velocity. Fury3 was one of MS's big opening acts for Windows 95 and also was the frontpiece for the original Sidewinder joystick.
