Pistons or Spurs?
Pistons or Spurs?
Post your predictions.... Maybe give a reason, too, if you feel so inclined.

Last option should read "What's google?"
In terms of who I *want* to win: the Spurs beat the Nuggets, so I want the Spurs to go on to win. But then, Chauncey went to high school with my brother, so I want to see him win. And Manu and Bowen should be called flopper and chopper, so I want to see them lose. But I don't want Darko to have 2 championship rings before he's old enough to drink, so I want Detroit to lose... and I really can't stand Sheed. So, the final verdict is, go Spurs!
As for who I think *will* win: also the Spurs. The Pistons are like the defensive version of the Suns -- they have no depth. The Spurs have both depth and versatility, and I think they'll absolutely dismantle the Pistons -- whether they play a slow half-court game or they get out and run a bit. They're simply that good.

havent been keeping up with it this year, but i hope the pistons win because larry brown will probably be in our front office next year and i dont want him to come in pissed off.
this will be the most boring finals EVER, and i bet you the ratings will be lower than normal because of the teams playing. gonna be good pure basketball though, its just that pure basketball isnt what the fans wanna see anymore. i'll enjoy it though.
i think the pistons are a better team all around than the spurs, but barely. the spurs have one of the top 5 if not the best players in the league in duncan, but they're mostly young and i'm not seeing that depth you're talking about being better than what the pistons have. they've got mr. clutch in horry still, right? that helps. but the pistons have mcdyess and hunter who i think are better than big dog and barry.
you've got prince who is an incredibly underrated player who does EVERYTHING and especially when it matters, and between the 2 wallaces they should beable to at least slow the big fundamental down. i think it will really come down to gaurd play. with prince most likely defending manu, and bowen probably on hamilton, i think this series might come down to point gaurd play. i dont really know who to give the edge to there. parker has flashes of brilliance but ive seen him play worse than average too, and chauncey is usually above average consistently. i think i'll have to say chauncey and the pistons in 7.

Iâ??m not huge hoops fan. But my co-worker is like the master freak NBA guy: he's calling Spurs.
Basketball is way better in person; I got flipped $600 dollars worth of Timber wolves tickets this year. The TV doesn't convey the amount of speed and contact AT ALL.
Watching Garrnet kill it from within 10 yards is really amazing.... I saw 2 games (Denver and New Jersey).
Oh well, Iâ??m trusting my co-worker with the Spurs pick. But then again he is a Pacers freak and naturally hates Detroit.

I defend the Suns by saying they DO have defensive depth. The refs just don't let them even play defense. No sooner as an arm is close to another player the whistle gets blown on them. Which makes what they did even more spectacular. Thats why they have to push the ball more. Also teams shoot out of their ass against them even when they do play good defense. So what are you going to do? *shrug*
I hate the spurs, but like the Patriots I just know they're going to win. Ginobili can choke on something for all I care. Him and Bowen get away with WAY to much crap. You take away half of those bad calls they get in their favor and they'd completely suck.
btw...Larry Brown is NOT going to the Cavs. Why would he take an office job for a team that can't even make the playoffs? He's already coaching a team that has won a championship and is in the finals again this year. It's the same reason why he probably will not end up going to the Lakers or the Knicks.

I'm not really a fan of basketball at all, but if I did have a favorite it would probably be the Pistons, since Larry Brown seems like a nice guy and was Philly's coach for a number of years; besides, my roommate was always talking about how crazy and cool Darko is.
P.S. With regards to something I've been following much more closely, w00t for the Phantoms, AHL Calder Cup winners!
