Who's all for creating a glass parking lot?

I have a sister in London who decided to NOT go to work today due to a sudden nagging pinched nerve type condition in her leg. She would have been in the subway right at the times of the first bombs exploding... on the same tube-lines that got bombed..

.."they", the instigators, the "muslim" terrorists ought to be eliminated from the gene pool ! Their support personnel too, likely family and close friends who hold the same extremist views, should all be culled from the Human race ! .. maybe they aren't really Homo Sapiens ... Homo Stupefaciens !

We need an evolutionary scalpel, so to speak,... cut out the obviously malignant growth in our midst. All this cultish extremist relogio-terrorism is medieval or un-evolved weight on our species' progress.

In fighting all terrorism whatever "we" do to combat it, it should be a surgical excision of the anti-life. Be it plagues and disease or terrorism... cut it out and burn it for the sake of our species.

If we had a vaccine, a technological pill to fix all of our problems of extremist view points it would be easy...

And, my sister by fluke did not go into work that morning...

If you are referring to this:

"Who's all for creating a glass parking lot?"

does not imply to me a elimination of all arabs. One could deduce Richard was merely implying that just terrorist be nuked and not the whole arab race. So perhaps you should be a little more circumspect in questioning what planet I'm from.

Lets piece this together shall we. What type of environment are the arabs concentrated in? Sand and rock. What happens when you melt sand? Do I really need to go any further with this?

Not so fast bud. The reference to a "glass parking lot" is a phrase used generically and has nothing to do with desert regions. I can remember using the term during the Vietnam war and how we should nuke Hanoi and turn it into a glass parking lot. But hey! I've been around a bit longer than most of you so I can take a more egalitarian view in such matters /smiles in a slight condescending manner at MD/awaits concession speech/

I think the race beef was with Bubbalou's "Paki" comment in the cafe thread, not the glass parking lot comment.

A glass parking lot would be silly.

It'd be really hard to keep clean, and the ramps would be hella slippery if they got wet.

At least you'd be able to see where your car was, if you forgot which floor it was on....

Its not the term I find offensive, its the usage. Its like calling an owner of a car with rediculous modifications to his car a ricer, and then calling some random japanese or chinese person a ricer. By the same token, extending the term "glass parking lot" to mean "paving the entire middle east with glass" is quite a stretch. Sounds like you're being a little over-sensitive.

As for me, I think using nuclear weapons for any reason is plain stupid. Just think of the precedent it would create, for one thing.

OTOH... I envisioned a parking garage, made entirely of glass when I started reading this post. It would be handy for finding lost cars, as someone pointed out...and slippery when wet, as someone ELSE pointed out.

And what happens if some idiot runs into a load bearing wall....does the whole thing shatter?

On a related note, a while back (maybe around the time of 9/11) there was a similar thread in the cafe, and I posted a reply on the lines of "lets turn the whole place into glass" and posted a picture of a nuke going off. MD deleted that post, which is why I find this debate amusing (especially since he cant edit posts anymore, heh).
