Laptop battery
Even when I am using AC power, my battery is being discharged. Is that normal?

Does the battery charge if you turn the laptop off and leave it plugged in?
On the whole, no its not.

Yes, I left it off but plugged in over night and it went back up to 98%
Then after turning it on for an hour or an hour and a half it was down to 57% with it still plugged in.

How old is the battery? Sounds like its ready to die soon. Charge should stay up while plugged in.
Either that or your charger is going too.

Just got the laptop and it was a floor model. However, I have a 3 year warranty.
Thanks for the post.

Return it. The battery is toast. It should no loss charge when AC is plugged.

yup, AC Adaptors feed enough voltage and amperage that it can charge the battery AND allow you to use it at full capability. battery and adaptor need checking
