Car Stereo question for my new little commuter.

So anyways, I purchased a little Honda to drive to and from work everyday, and the guy I purchased it from didnâ??t leave a stellar system.

I need some help from you car audio freaks. I havenâ??t looked at car audio in about 5 years, so Iâ??m a little out of date. I used to have a Kenwood deck, mb quarts speakers, eclipse amps, JL audio subs, and Sirius satellite.

I donâ??t want to spend allot of cash, Maybe 800 to 1200 bones (soup to nuts). Iâ??m not a total audiophile, so no need for top of the line. I would like crisp sound for mostly hard metal, and good vocals (i.e. infinity or mb quarts).

If anyone has any suggestions as to the best equipment now a days, Or maybe the must see deck/audio gear, let me have it.

Iâ??d prefer to buy everything on eBay and install it myself (because DIY is way more fun)

amp you will not find a better amp than this one unless you plan to spend big cash. use two channels to run a small sub, and run the front stage off the other two. this is a 4channel amp of the highest quality.

front stage if you like MB Quart, that's a fair deal on a decent set.

sub driver I assume you'll build a box for it or have one built.

An alternate setup would include a second monoblock amp to dedicate to the sub if you have the additional budget. Get that Tru Amp if you can, bro. It's worth at least 300-350 used.

Looks like you could put that entire setup together for about a grand.

The alpine has a lot more features like built in crossovers, etc. If you're serious about music, buy the alpine. If you want a pretty screensaver and dolphins jumping, buy that panasonic.
