Files different from Windows and Linux versions of D3..

Post by FunkyStickman »

I tested this, and the resulting files can be tarred into less than 10MB. That means, with a Windows install CD, and a 10MB .tar file, you can run D3 in Linux. What you keep: all .mn3, .mve, and .hog files. What you need: the executables, .d3n and d3c files, and one linux-specific .hog file.

This could be interesting, indeed!

Suncho just asked about that in this thread; he wanted to put the Linux-specific files on the official D3 website so that Linux users could get away with buying the Windows version. Sounds good to me :)

That's why I did it. Suncho should be pleased, as should the Descent community at large.
