Did gamesurge just change something?

No problems with Trillian or mIRC. They probably started blocking non-standard IRC clients, all it'll need is an update to vortex so it fakes being some authorized client.

Gamesurge sometimes throws wierd error messages for no apparent reason.
I checked, and Vortex is working fine for me.
Try start menu->run->"ipconfig /renew"
and reconnect.

I've gotten this message with Trillian as well; I'm guessing it's just the standard server issues.

Ya War. Im NATed behind a custom router that I have setup on a Linux machine.
I have a SOCKS5 proxy running on it which allows gaim to work just fine with gamesurge. I tried using the proxy with Vortex. No luck.
EDIT: Yup. Gamesurge servers are just stoned. The main server still kicked me out but the US one let me in.

actually, I was having similar problems to Nos, and I AM behind a Linksys BEFSR41. Renewing seemed to reset whatever the problem was that wasn't letting me connect to Gamesurge.
I know it's probably a sledgehammer approach but it worked
