I bought a 16x Shuttle DVD+- R drive and installed the version of nero that was supplied with the drive. Only thing is the max speed is only 8x in the program, however Windows detects it as a 16x drive.

Does nero automatically lower the max burn speed if the media isn't 16x? Just want to make sure I don't have a damaged drive.
