I guess being a democratic congressmen as in one William Jefferson, has it's benefits. Seems he commandeers a NG 5 ton truck to go over to his flood house so he can load up on a few personnel possessions.
While there the truck gets stuck. NG driver flags a passing rescue 'copter(has 3 rescuee's onboard) that then comes over to see about picking up the Oh So Important Mr Jefferson. Forty five minutes later, running low on fuel, the copter then has to leave with no Mr. Jefferson aboard.
Must be nice to be able to squander resources needed to take care of the lesser mortals down in N.O.

You're right, that version of the story had no slant at all
I guess if you told it like it really happend, it just wouldn't have the same impact would it.

Actually, Woody presented pretty much the same story I read. Well, accept for leaving out the part that the guy's house just happened to be in the district he serves and he felt like seeing the damage to his whole district firsthand. Oh, also, he left out the part where the guy claims that he tried to turn down the N. Guard escort - so NO he didn't commandeer anything. The guard insisted on accompanying him. Oh also he forgot to mention that the guy wasn't asking for helicopter rescue and waved it off more than once. Otherwise, no slant from the woodman.
But still, he must be a douche. Hmmm. Two thirds of his name is the same as Clinton's. Clearly Clinton shares 2/3 of the blame for this incident!

That is exactly what I was referring to.
