Heya,
I have added a new level spotlight section to my Descent site. It's currently very small, but I intend to present outstanding, but probably little known D1 and D2 levels there in the future. Take a look.

Very cool idea. I finally managed to overcome my laziness enough to make a slew of news posts on PD; I just got this up, and I mentioned the D1 compatibility in D2X-W32 last night. Keep up all the good work!

Guest reviews are welcome btw. and can be sent to karx11erx at hotmail dot com. They shouldn't be too long, screenshots included pls (800x600, I'll make the thumbnails myself), and ofc it will be up to me whether to publish guest submissions, and I might modify them (in case they'd really need some touching up). If you don't mind that, feel free to send something to me.
Btw, I have added a few more levels to my spotlight section.

Hey everybody,
I have added quite a few levels to my spotlight section. Two level archives are currently missing, I will add them soon.
There's however such a huge mass of D1/D2 levels around that I need ppl to sift through it and pick them gems from it.
So if you have a D1/D2 level sitting on your HD you find awesome for one reason or the other, you can e-mail it to me (karx11erx at hotmail dot com) w/o any review, and I will take a look at it and decide whether it's worthy of my level spotlight and if so, put it up there together with some text.
I particularly remember a D2 level that featured a city with highrisers and roads, but cannot remember the name. Anybody around who knows/has that level?

Try to find some of Atan's D1/D2 levels. I don't know where they are now, but they really belong in your collection.

I know he's the guy who maintains D3Edit, and I think I remember that he builds some fantastic D3 level from time to time. Does he have a web site?
Edit: I have found a site offering his D2 levels, but I did not find them to have anything that would make them stand out from the crowd.

Taste differs.
BTW, Grant didn't build Nostronomo all by him self

Who were the other Nostromo authors?
Which of Atan's levels do you believe is/are exceptionally good (maybe you can give some reasons, too)?

I like some his single player levels, can't remember the names though.
About Nostromo, I was the other Nostroomo author. Build most of the top level and the core, and textured (using Grant's custom textures) most the the level.

Wholey ... you are Lars
Christiansen!
You G.E.L.D. guys did some awesome levels!
I am just looking through Atan's Ironblade mission (or is this another G.E.L.D. production)?
Ofc, I will update the spotlight and mention you in the Nostromo text.

Thank you
Ironblade is a GELD production, yes. All three of us made that.

DDL, I assume, refers to Descent Developer's List.

Oh yes it does. Talk about a developer community. To bad it lost its steam.

I'd just like to remark that my spotlight has been expanded pretty much since first starting it, and there are more levels in the queue.
Again, if you have any D1/D2 levels you feel are excellently/superbly/outstandingly well, be in looks, gameplay, or a special twist they have, send them to me, and I'll take a look at them.
Small level sets preferred - they're easier to see through.
Big SP missions are pretty hard to feature properly.

Dark Matter, by the way, is one of my levels from 1998 except that the version up there has had some minor alterations to it. I'm not sure who did them.

Text updated. Btw, I found out that Magnacore is from you, too. Absolutely stunning level, this is taking the D2 engine as far as it gets. WOW! I'd just have loved to explore the exit tunnel a little further behind the gate ...

Hehe... I wonder where you find them all.

Hmmmmm. I just realised the 3rd party section is missing Entropy 2. Had trouble finding it, or just not as impressed with it as the original (which I really, really highly doubt could be the case)?

Is there an Entropy 2 mission?
Edit: Got it, uploaded it.
Thx for the hint. How could I miss that one.
