Bugatti Veyron 16.4
Top speed of 253 mph and a price value of $1,250,000. I'd be afraid to take it out for a drive.

Not bad, but I'd still rather have an Ariel Atom: 0-60 in under 5 sec, 0-100-0 in 10.88 sec.
I've definately seen this car in action, and you get way better handling and feel with it. This is probably more the drivers can than the Veyron. And it is probably (if it is possible) less practical then the Veyron.Flatlander wrote:Not bad, but I'd still rather have an Ariel Atom: 0-60 in under 5 sec, 0-100-0 in 10.88 sec.
I'd rather have the Bugatti.

Gimme a Veyron any day. If you're afraid to drive this car - well - you're a candy-ass pussy! The car (by all accounts) is very driveable, and choosing the motorcycle-that-wants-to-be-a-car Atom over a Veyron would be, well - dumb. You could sell the Veyron, buy a house, a boat, a Lamborghini, a world trip and put $75,000 in the bank

The stats for this car are simply stunning:
1000 HP
400+ km/h top speed.
0-60 in 3 seconds
burns 1.3 gallons of gas a minute at max throttle
14.4" rear tyres
At max power, the engine is consuming 45,000 liters of air per minute!

Theres quite a bit of information about the design of the engine on Bugatti's website. Click on Models, then Veyron 16.4, then Engineering, then Engine, then Legends from 1001 HP. Theres other stuff about the car there too, like aerodynamics.
The engine and transmission alone weigh 1400 pounds.

I'd rather have the McLaren over any other sports car... its got so much class because it is probably one of the original supercars. Made in '94 and is still top 5 fastest production cars. SOOOO classy.Nirvana wrote:at 5.5 sec, the Mclaren F1 would still take it from 0-100 at only 627 HP
But I think the Veyron is faster.

0-100 in 6.3. I'd still say it wins with 1/2 the HP.

For the money, the Dodge Viper is still the car to own.
While no match for the Veyron, the Viper only cost 40,000.00 when it first came out. Zero to 60 in under 4 secs and 124 mph in the quarter mile. While with the Veyron one would hesitate to take it out, the Viper you could afford to play around with.

Too bad the Viper costs 80k+ now and a Corvette at 60k could kick the crap out of it.woodchip wrote:For the money, the Dodge Viper is still the car to own.
