How to properly dispose of a sofa...

I moved just a little while ago. In the old apartment, I had this sofa that was just a little too long to fit in the elevator or carry down the stairs, and also not worth moving. We originally moved it in to the apartment using a vacant apartment that opened onto the ground behind the building, but when it came time to move out, that apartment was no longer vacant. Furthermore, after 3 years of people leaving furniture beside the dumpsters with no complaints from the management, the apartment managers decided to start issuing warnings a week before we moved. Because of this, we had to get the aforementioned sofa out of the apartment and into (not just next to) a dumpster. With the help of one of a neighbor, we managed to do
just that...
Anybody got a nerds pic?
Thanks.

I had a dog once that liked to destroy sofas. He would have been a big help.

Don't be surprised if you get a complaint from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Furniture.

Got rid of an old one here a few years back, out in a nice open field, just took a match to it. Lit up faster then a real christmas tree.

Um yes, you're welcome I guess.
I thought you were supposed to throw them onto the right hand lane of traffic during rush hour traffic.

Seems to be the common method around here.
At least, that's what all the slow traffic and wads of stuffing floating around indicate.

When I moved back to my home town, there was no room in the truck for my 29" TV, so I pushed it out the third story window.
It landed almost perfectly screen-down.
Big CRTs make a big implosion, followed by a medium explosion.
The best thing I ever did with a TV!

Tom, I would've lent you a sledgehammer and a backhoe if I knew ahead of time.
Hell, you could've sold it to MTV so they can use it on Jackass 2.
