virtual dedicated server

Post by ccb056 »

I decided to get a virtual dedicated server from www.rackforce.com (dds200) just to tool around with, I'm hosting a few of my sites on it along with a few friends

It was a huge shock going from a normal hosting account over to a dedicated server

I used to host my own sites on a XP machine with apache, php, and mysql but I accessed that via remote desktop, having to learn ssh and unix now :(

Going back into some of the config files and tweaking the settings does bring back a few memories from about 5 years ago though, I didnt know I had repressed so many :P

yeah, its a step up from my old host-gator reseller account, but I am eventually going to get my own dedicated with a 100mbit connect.
