Plz skip the comments on why I shouldn't use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer ... I have a good reason for this ... thx ...

When I installed M$ Office I inadvertently installed the M$ Photo Editor. This changed the default image viewer to the Photo Editor. I am struggling to figure out how to set it back to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Note that there is no uninstaller for the Photo Editor.

I did successfully locate the program ... actually it is a DLL and you can launch it with this shortcut :
%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen

Does anyone have a clue HOW TO SET THE DEFAULT IMAGE VIEWER TO THIS??

Thanks in adv,
Ice out...

Easy Way:
Right click an image of the desired format. From the context menu select: OPEN WITH. From the drop down menu that appears, select "CHOOSE PROGRAM..." The "open with" dialog box will open, be sure to check the "Always use the selected program..." button before clicking "OK"

Long Way:
Windows Explorer/tools/folder options:

File types tab

scroll down to select desired file extension

click the "change" button

select windows picture and fax viewer
