As of last quarter, it appears they have $547,000 in assets and $17,500,000 in liabilities.
Ouch.

They made $3 million over the past fiscal year, however.

Heh. They're claiming to be developing MMO titles with Steam-style game download and interface. Pretty ambitious for a company that's broke.
oh and check
thisout.

I never heard that. Where did you hear it?

TG: no, the site is very real. After all, it's just a few links to their SEC filings and an email address for "investor relations".

Someone suggested it in a similar thread a few months ago; I can't remember who. That person was of the opinion that whoever had done so had changed the frontend of the site (or some equivalent technical term which I didn't understand
). I mean, it could very well be legit, but it makes absolutely no sense for any company to put up a website looking like that, even one in as dire straits as Interplay is. If it was legit, why didn't they just put back their old corporate site, or some other version of it?

That site is for the creditors and receivers, nothing more I suspect. We did a similar thing for an energy company in New York when they went belly up.

TG: Bandwidth. When you're broke and you need a website, why would you spend tons on bandwidth for lots of images when plain text does fine?
Posted: Tue Nov 15, 2005 6:02 pm
by Top Gun
I can understand that, but with the small amount of traffic they're most likely getting, I would expect them to at least be able to spare a few images that don't look like they were made by a 5-year-old in MSPaint.

I wonder how much you pay for bandwidth.

I'm getting this: "No web site is configured at this address."

Tricord: Replace "bandwidth" with "data transfer". That better? IPLY probably no longer owns the server running their website, and if they do it's sitting on some crappy connection.

I mean, bandwidth or datatransfer or however you want to call it, is relatively cheap. It is certainly not what brought them down financially, and I'm sure it's the least of their worries right now if they are indeed trying to work something out.
