after not playing for over a year, i was really rusty, but it all started to come back at the end
anyway, I was thinking, to get the in game trackers working all someone has to do is purchase the domain names pxo.net and heat.net and place a working server program on a dedi, shouldnt be that hard to get the pxo stuff working since freespace is opensource and uses pxo, so we already know how the client works, the hardest part is writing the server side and actually getting the domain name

Someone has. It's the freespace community. They have the servers and everything but my understanding is they said "screw the descent 3 players".
sweet eh?

You're actually pretty much dead wrong.
The FS2 community incorporated a new server tracker called FS2NetD into the FS2_Open project; a few of the community members take care of hosting it. It's not related at all to PXO.

Well, it's good to know that it's up and running, but what about PXO for D3?
