Just wanted people to see what can be done when you and a small team of people get together and run with an idea... Then come up with better ideas along the way.

We ran into some very interesting things to solve... Came up with some very innovative ways to conquer those challenges.

Voila' ... Finally Done!

Here's the link:

At long last this project is finished and it was well worth the wait!

To borrow the popular phrase from Apogee/3dRealms:
When its' done!

That is the download page.

Here's a brief description of what the program does... (There is a lot more that this in the program suite!)

The Program Suite has 2 parts... Send and Receive. (4 programs in total.)

Send Program can be configured to auto-capture pictures at a preselected interval and upload them to
your FTP site with a secondary FTP site that can be used if the primary FTP site goes down for any reason.

Send Program has been designed for use in a mobile or stationary situations for capturing and uploading pictures.

Receive Programs are designed to be used at home or in an office environment... 3 programs:

- Administration Module which contains an FTP client. Standard upload and download features are included. We added a feature which is not in a lot of FTP clients... The ability to copy a directory tree on the local pc to another directory tree on the local pc... same feature is available for the FTP site.

- Receive Program which retrieves the uploaded files from the Primary and Secondary FTP sites. Also has the ability to build a "slideshow" using drag and drop features.

- Slideshow Presentation which can be used in either Windowed or Full Screen mode.

Here's the page that links to the download page:

Perhaps that will clarify what program suite does.

Company Main Web Page:
http://ipixcel.com

This project was designed to be used by individuals or companies.

A few possible uses...

- Documenting your trips across country in pictures while you are driving.

- An Electrical Company monitoring the travel of a fleet of their vehicles in pictures for each work day.

- Security Pictures from a remote location can be automatically captured and sent to a companies' FTP site and automatically retrieved at the home office.

Not to pull a Mobius, but you have some glaring typos on your product description page.

Yes, Jeff... We know that there are typos.

We have to final proof-read the pages to insure that not only is the spelling is correct but the content of the pages is correct.

My friend that does the web pages... his main language is farci (persian) and English is a language that he learned after he became an adult.

So I think he does a pretty good job with English most of the time.

We will go over those pages with a fine toothed comb and fix those glaring typos.

Top,

Yes that is just one of many things that can be done with this program suite.

We are already looking to add some nifty enhancements to this product soon.

So when sending security pics will the pics be automatically compressed so storage will not be a issue?
Will pics have the ability to auto folder on the parent harddrive> In other words if you have a number of different locations can pics from each location be put auto in to a folder for that location?

"Webcam on Steriods" eh?

It is a Commercial Grade software suite at a very reasonable price for ALL consumers.

---

On the Autofolder question:

We automatically store the files by date and time into folders as they are captured and uploaded.

Up to 25 files are saved into one directory on the Send side before a new folder gets created.

As for the Receive Side the user can configure in multiples of 25 from 25 to 200 on how many pictures to store on a directory tree before a new directory is created.

For Example, Say today's date is December 4, 2005 and Time is 01:23:45 AM. We would create a Directory Tree for the Date First as "2005-12-04" then under that a Time Directory Tree as "012345". Then the pictures are stored in under "...\2005-12-04\012345\" directory on the local pc.

Say you have 2 units uploading pictures to your FTP site. Let's call them "Unit1" and "Unit2" with a base FTP directory of "/MyFTP/Directory/".

On the Send of the First PC, you would configure the FTP Path as "/MyFTP/Directory/Unit1/". Similarly on Second PC that path would be "/MyFTP/Directory/Unit2/".

On the Receive Side, You would configure to use the "base" directory as "/MyFTP/Directory/" then you would configure 2 aliases.

First Alias of "Unit1" might be assigned a display name of "Fred Smith".

Second Alias of "Unit2" might be assigned a display name of "Alice Jones".

The Receive Program takes files from the FTP site in the directory tree "/MyFtp/Directory/Unit1/2005-12-04/012345/" and saves them as "...\2005-12-04\Unit1\012345\" on the Receive PC.

Same thing for Unit2, etc.

So the Receive Program will organize the files in date, user alias, and time order as the files are being downloaded from the FTP sites. (Yes, the program automatically downloads from the 2 configured FTP sites.)

Instead of showing the alias name of "Unit1" or "Unit2", the "display name" is shown to identify the "Source" of the pictures.

We allow selecting multiple pictures from multiple users and multiple dates and times into One "Play list" for the slideshow.

This was a fun project to work on most days and other days was quite a struggle, but it was WELL worth the effort.

The Web Site for the product will better explain the product than I have time to do here. I'll give a link to the actual product site soon... Until then we are working out the final details.

Enjoy!
