Yup, that's right. The Quake 4 Demo is out.

Oh and if you're not into Q4, the Harry Potter Goblet of Fire game Demo is out too.

i remember when they would release a demo... before the game was availiable. so that there would be more people waiting to buy the game the day it hit the shelves. what ever happened to that?

And that's a surprise? LOL.

My X800XL chews up and spits out Q4. Still haven't decided if it's better than Q3A yet though.

The game is ok. I've never been one for Quake though.

The game play isn't too bad. As good as Q3. It plays a bit better and the weapons have been dulled down just a smidge .. or armor has been toughened. The story picks up where Q2 left off. the defences are down and the earth forces are landing in mass. and dying in mass. It takes a lot of the neat things about Doom3 and mix them well into atmosphere. It's not quite as predicable either, which is nice. The Demo is good. It ends just as you're getting into it and starting to lean forward. You get about 20 minutes or more of mission and one map or multiplayer; in which you get to use every weapon except the DMG (dark matter gun). The Weapons are pretty much the same with cooler FX. They redid the lightning gun. really cool.

It's worth the try if you haven't played it yet or Doom.
